So you’ve been invited to a wedding. Maybe it’s a close friend. Oooor maybe you’re the +1 at your significant other’s 2nd cousin’s wedding and you have never spoken to the happy couple. Either way, one decision you will have to make at one time or another is “what to wear!”

As wedding photographers, we get to see a lot of girls wearing dresses and a lot of guys sporting suits and tuxes. And we love dressing up! So it’s like we get to hang out at classy dinner parties for a living! What?! But yeah. That’s pretty much what we do!

As a result of that experience, we have seen dresses and suits done the right way many times. It’s easy to spot the power couple that clearly put some time and effort into what they were going to be wearing to the wedding. They are the class of the party (other than the gorgeous bride and her groom of course! No white dresses, ladies!) and they hit that reception dance floor in style.

However, it’s just as easy for us to spot the couple that spent zero time choosing their outfits. As in, “oh shoot the wedding’s in an hour – grab something!” And we know – it happens!
