Fall Ceresville Mansion Wedding Matt & Lauren | Frederick, Maryland

Lauren’s Dad turned to look around the room. He made eye contact with his wife, his sons, his 94 year old Mom seated closest to him. He continued to scan the room, seeing Lauren’s friends from elementary school all the way to college. He saw Matt’s family, and is reminded of when Matt came to visit with Lauren for the first time. And finally his gaze landed on Lauren. His little girl, on the day she’s been dreaming about. Dad starts his speech, recalling those early days of bonding with Lauren. The day he dropped her off at college, and they became Facebook friends (officially!). When she graduated, and moved back home to Maryland. And when she first started seeing Matt. The moment when he knew that he was looking at his future son-in-law. As Dad looked at his grown up, now married, little girl, he shared a piece of marriage advice.

“Contrary to what everyone says, I tell you that marriage is not 50/50. It’s not yours and mine. Except for the mint chocolate chip ice cream. But marriage, marriage is 100%. You’re one flesh, no longer two individuals. You’re united, you are one together.”

And that outlook on marriage is what will anchor Matt & Lauren. The realization that while they’re two very individual people, together they are a united front. There’s no separating the two. There’s nothing to divide, except for the mint chip, of course!

Matt & Lauren, thank you for giving us a front row seat to your relationship. You are some of the sweetest most genuine people we know, and it was an honor to be alongside your journey into marriage. Enjoy this sneak peek from your day!
