Hotel Domestique Sunset Proposal Greenville, SC

There’s nothing we love more than a good proposal story. And Heath & Caroline have a good one! Let’s set the stage…

Caroline was planning to move to Greenville for a few months for work. It happened to coincide with Heath’s upcoming birthday, so he hatched the plan for them to celebrate 1) being in the same city and 2) his birthday, and told Caroline he made dinner reservations at Restaurant 17 at Hotel Domestique. Planning to be there for dinner and then enjoy the sunset later together. Because you can’t beat sunset at Hotel Domestique with the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains! The plan was coming together beautifully. Caroline had no idea the extra surprise Heath wanted to celebrate – a proposal! And that’s when Heath reached out to us about capturing him asking Caroline to be his wife. We planned out the moment and every detail, so all that remained was the actual moment.

The week leading up to Heath’s birthday, Heath reached out and shared Caroline had a mandatory work call. It looked like things would be pushed back an hour, but they’ll still be there. Everything would move forward as scheduled!

Saturday arrived, and family and friends gathered on the patio of Restaurant 17 to witness the big moment. We arrive, and get into place. About 15 minutes later, Heath’s mom comes down and shares that there’s been a complication; Caroline is still tied up on her work call, and they’re delayed. Heath shared later that it took a lot of convincing to get Caroline to go after her work call ended, since she was convinced they missed their celebratory dinner reservation! Heath insisted they still go, that the restaurant would accommodate them. But they finally arrived, grabbed a drink, and Heath walked Caroline out to the fire pit to look at the views. Pretty sure you can guess what happened next; Heath grabbed her hands, and with the biggest smile on his face, got down on one knee, as he asked her to marry him. The look of shock on Caroline’s face will forever be one of our favorite moments! She said yes! And what an honor to be the ones to capture this moment in their relationship. Thank you, Heath, for inviting us into this moment! And we’re so happy for you and Caroline! Best birthday ever!
