The eyes are the window to the soul.
For two people who have a passion to help others see, this phrase couldn’t be more true. Matt is an optometrist and Amanda spends her days helping those who are visually impaired. There couldn’t be a more perfect story right? The beginning of their beautiful story goes way back and we think Amanda’s dad told it best.
I owe a lot of gratitude to somebody who I don’t know. Back when Amanda was at Florida State University, she was undecided as a major. She was wondering around the campus one day and all of the sudden, somebody called “Can you help me?” She turns around and there’s a gentleman at an ATM who happened to be blind. He wasn’t sure how to negotiate his way around it. So Amanda went over there to help him. She called me later and said “I decided what I want to do for a living. I want to go into the field of visual impairment.” So she gets a bachelors degree and a masters degree in visual impairment.
Fast forward. She ends up at Crossfit, doing her thing at Crossfit. Somebody approached her and said, “You know, there’s a guy over there who’s an optometrist. You have something in common.” So they start talking business…which…didn’t last very long before it turned into something else. Two weeks into it she’s telling me, “I’m crazy about this guy! I know it sounds like it’s too fast and too soon…”
So there’s a saying, “The eyes are the window to the soul.” But I think in this case, the eyes are the window to the heart as well.
As far as wedding toasts go, it doesn’t get much better than that in our opinion! Matt & Amanda, every toast to you guys on your wedding day was perfect. They were classy. They were funny. They told your incredible story and we were blessed to be a part of those moments. We are thankful to have you guys as an #racouple! Your wedding was storybook.
