Kathleen waited outside the wooden doors of the Old Cigar Warehouse. She had waited there many times with nervous brides on their wedding days. She had been so involved in creating the venue that now surrounded her. But today it was her turn.
A lot of emotions flooded her soul. Her wedding to Bharat had been a log time in the planning and had not been without its challenges. After years of working with soon-to-be brides at the Old Cigar Warehouse, she knew that was normal. But their challenges had been more taxing than most. Kathleen was thinking more than anything about her father. How she wished he could see her now. He would be so proud on a day like today. But she knew in her heart that he was looking down on them and that he was indeed more proud than he had ever been. He loved her. He loved Bharat. He wanted them together. That was enough for Kathleen.
Yesterday had been a fantastic day. The Indian ceremony was like nothing she had ever experienced before. But with Bharat by her side and family all around, it could not have been more fun! Today, it was the American ceremony, and Kathleen expected it to be just as fun. She couldn’t wait for the ceremony to start so she could walk down the stairs to Bharat and exchange their handwritten vows.
Kathleen wouldn’t have to wait long. She heard her music cue from the guitarist. She took her brother Jamie by the arm. The best weekend of her life was in full swing. Dad was watching. And Bharat was waiting for her with open arms.

Bharat & Kathleen are two of the nicest people you could meet. In his speech, Bharat’s best man made mention of the “Bharat effect” where it takes 3 times as long to walk down the street in Greenville because Bharat knows SO many people! We feel privileged to be a part of their wedding! The Old Cigar Warehouse is extremely special to Kathleen, as she had a huge part in making it the gorgeous venue it is today. So, of course she was going to get married there! What a sweet reunion it was for Kathleen and her crew at the Old Cigar Warehouse!
In the first half of these images you will see Bharat and Kathleen in their traditional Indian garb. The Indian ceremony took place on Friday morning, which is about an hour and a half long ceremony! Then on Saturday they had a traditional American ceremony. They got the best of both worlds!
Bharat & Kathleen (and Nala of course), you guys mean so much to us! It seems like years ago we did your engagement session! We will forever cherish our friendship with you and we hope you will forever cherish the images and memories we captured on your wedding weekend. Enjoy this small (actually quite lengthy!) preview of your gorgeous two days!
