WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS IN LOVE

GREENVILLE, SC & BEYOND

Phil & Meghan Engagement Winston Salem, NC

Over the past 5 years of running a full-time wedding photography business and shooting about 30 weddings a year, our business has changed. A lot! And one of the things we have noticed is that we have more destination weddings than we used to have. Sometimes that means we are traveling outside of Greenville (like Jared & Rachael’s Boston wedding this year AND we’re going to Mexico this month for Steven & Kelley’s wedding!). But sometimes it can mean that brides from out of town are getting married close to Greenville.

Either way, we have learned that (love or hate technology) we have to get used to some FaceTime conversations rather than giving brides and grooms hugs as they meet with us in our home for the first time. We start off with a “digital relationship.” Don’t get us wrong! We are so thankful that we have the opportunity to serve more couples because of technology that allows us to meet them virtually rather than in person! But as we all know, it’s just not the same. So part of the adjustment that we have had to make is that, for those couples, the first time we meet them in person is usually at their engagement session! It feels like we’re meeting them for the first time (and we sort of are!) and we know that they are nervous to meet us AND get in front of the camera all at the same time!

We have learned to build those relationships quickly since they are so new and we want to have that rapport with them before Alyssa starts posing them and Ryan starts busting out his arsenal of dumb (and yet somehow funny!) 4th-grade jokes!

But all of that being said, when Phil & Meghan – at the time, one of our beloved digital-relationship couples – got out of the car and we met them in person for the first time, it was like we had been friends since high school! We had just driven up to Wake Forest University where they both received graduate degrees and we were greeted by Phil & Meghan with a box of macarons just for us! So sweet – literally!

And it only got better from there with every dad joke Ryan told and every laugh that Phil & Meghan shared. It was effortless! These two were made for each other and we can’t wait to be a part of their wedding next year! But until then, we invite you all to enjoy a little peek at their engagement session!
