2014 Highlights Part 2: Andrew Haler

Andrew Haler Sherman was born on November 12, 2014 at 10:43pm. Andrew is our brand new (and our first ever) nephew! However, this highlight of our 2014 can’t really be narrowed down to one specific day.

We still remember going over to Tim and Amanda’s (Ryan’s sister and brother-in-law) house for Sunday lunch one day. We all had assigned seats, which seemed strange at first. But we we filled our plates and went over to the table. We noticed there were six place cards. We looked for our names. Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Dad, Aunt, Uncle.

Then it hit us.

We weren’t sure how to respond at first. We were so excited, but we found it hard to believe initially. After all, they have been married for six years and we started to give up on them! But it was a fantastic surprise and one that we will always remember! We were so happy that we got to be involved in small ways along the process. We got to host a baby shower for Amanda which was a blast! We also had a great time doing a maternity session for them shortly before little Andrew entered the world!

The day finally came. November 12th. He was about 2 weeks late! But we were so excited for Tim and Amanda. We couldn’t wait to hold little baby Andrew. He’s a little chunker!

A few days later Andrew (and mommy and daddy) were home safe and sound. We had the pleasure of doing a newborn session with him a week later. The little stinker didn’t want to sleep, but eventually mommy got him to take a little nap. He’s the cutest little chunky baby! He’s going to grow up to be the sweetest kid and we think he’s going to be a basketball player just like his daddy. And one of us (we won’t say who) thinks that if he’s going to turn out to be a cool kid, he better spend some quality time with his Uncle Ryan along the way!

We hope and pray the absolute best for baby Andrew. We know he has a family that loves him. He’s always welcome at Uncle Ryan and Aunt Alyssa’s house. We can’t wait to watch him learn and grow. Andrew, you are loved and you are definitely a highlight of our 2014!
