Wedding days, we’ve missed you! We kicked off our wedding season celebrating Brandon & Ellie mid March, and we’ve been itching to share these images of their stunning day. We’re about to flood you with visions of blue and hues of pinks, gorgeous draping, candlelit dinner spaces, fun patterns and some images that will make your heart sing. But a wedding day is more than all of those things. And for those of you who are married, you know exactly what we’re thinking – marriage. It’s kind of easy to lose sight of that during the happy chaos of a wedding day. But the officiant for Brandon & Ellie’s ceremony took a moment to highlight marriage perfectly, and we want to share his thoughts with you.
“Marriage is costly. And the cost of marriage? Yourself. Giving and forgiving in small and big ways. Choosing love over and over again. Embodying a life attitude of you before me, and we before I. Marriage will cost you your heart.” But that cost? Absolutely worth it. Again and again and again. As a husband and wife who have witnessed 300+ weddings, we get to see the best days. The excitement, the joy, the overwhelming love. But we know from personal experience, there comes time where you both need to fight for those things. The joy can get buried in the mundane. Love can feel like a choice you make out of duty, not feeling. Coming up on 14 years of marriage this summer. we know and have felt the cost of marriage. The act of selflessness needed for the greater good of our relationship. Looking for little ways to bring joy to the other throughout the day. Intentionality behind conversation, and quality time together. The safety and security you feel knowing your heart and soul are protected by someone who loves you more than they love themselves. We love that Brandon & Ellie had an eyes-wide-open entrance into the start of their marriage. A conversation that they’ll remember decades from now, as they look at the life they’ve built together and agree that the cost of marriage was worth it. We tell our prospective couples that marriage is one of life’s biggest blessings, and greatest adventure. And we’re so excited for our couples to experience all that marriage brings.
Brandon & Ellie, we loved celebrating with you two! We pray you look back on this day with the most joy <3 Congrats!!!
