Oooooo we’ve been so excited to share this engagement session! Let us introduce you to JJ & Elise; we first met them at Elise’s sister’s wedding last fall (Ryan & Amy, if you want to check it out!), and having the honor of documenting another love story for this sweet family is the greatest honor. There are so people that are just so easy to talk to; spending time with them is a joy and there’s always something in common. That’s JJ & Elise. They are naturals in front of the camera, and seeing them interact together, we had to stop ourselves from saying “awww!” out loud from behind the camera (haha!)

Elise moved to Greenville almost 4 years ago for grad school, knowing no one. So she did what every young professional does in a new city, and immersed herself into the heartbeat of Greenville and meeting new people. Elise actually connected with JJ online, where they discovered they had a lot of similarities. Including being born in the same hospital in Pennsylvania (I mean, how wild is that?!). They hit it off immediately at their first date at Gather, and that was it. They haven’t been separated since!

After Elise graduated, she knew the proposal was coming. JJ had already started ring shopping, and wanted more than anything to get it right. In between graduation, work, and attending friends’ weddings, dates were looking full. Looking ahead, JJ found the one free weekend and booked them a weekend in the Highlands. He made it seem last minute to throw Elise off his plan to propose, and she was none the wiser. Except JJ kept talking about waterfalls in the Highlands to prep her to go along with his plans. They made it to their destination, and headed off to see the waterfall JJ couldn’t stop talking about before dinner. And once Elise started down that path with JJ by her side, she knew this was one walk she’d remember forever. He got down on one knee, she said yes, and now here we are planning their wedding day!

JJ & Elise, we couldn’t be more excited for you two! Here’s to celebrating you guys now, and then in May 2027! Bring on the big day!!
