Matt & Susannah’s story began at Furman University. But they were just great friends the duration of their time at school! Never dated in college, but their friend group afforded them the opportunity to get to know each other better without the pressures of a relationship status. It wasn’t until after graduation, when Susannah moved to Montana for a 8 month position at a ranch, that Matt reconnected with her. They had kept in touch, in spite of the spotty wifi on Susannah’s end. All the while, subtly in the background, the foundation was being laid for the next step in their relationship. Susannah moved to Charlotte after her time out west, and shortly after she got there, Matt announced he was coming up to take her out on a date. It kind of took Susannah by surprise, but she agreed anyway. By the end of their date, she knew it felt different than all of the other times they spent together. And it wasn’t too much longer after that Matt asked her to officially be his girlfriend. Looking back, I don’t think they knew where their Furman friendship would take them, but to see them now, you wouldn’t have a doubt that this was meant to be. So when we discussed their engagement session, it was a no-brainer to go back to where they first met, on Furman’s campus!
Matt & Susannah, you two exude joy. It brought a smile to our faces as we watched your energy feed off of each other during your engagement session. We can’t wait for all of the fun this next year will bring! We hope you two enjoy the sneak peek of the most perfect fall day together at Furman University!
