WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS IN LOVE

GREENVILLE, SC & BEYOND

Gorgeous Wedding at Twelve Oak Estate Mitch & Taylor | Lexington, SC

We arrived at Twelve Oak Estate, with the sun streaming through the trees, the southern humidity starting early, and the pollen out in full force. Ha! We walked in to see a bubbly, excited bride-to-be, surrounded by family and girlfriends. Just downstairs, we could hear Mitch and his guys having a great time hanging out before needing to get ready.

We started the day just like every other, but Ryan had his eye on the forecast. It had been changing all week, so it wasn’t a surprise when it updated again. We headed upstairs to get Taylor ready to do a first look with her dad, with one last weather check. But this time, it said the rain was coming. We had an hour before the skies were to open up. Taylor, a photographer herself, knew we needed to get things moving, and knew there was a slight chance we might need to pivot her ceremony plans. But she put all that behind her as she had an emotional moment with first her dad, then her sweet husband-to-be, Mitch. They had waited long for this day, planned, then postponed, then planned again, and it was finally here.

Just as we were wrapping up wedding party portraits, the planner came over, and mentioned pivoting to plan B for the ceremony. Taylor’s face fell, though she tried so very hard to keep smiling. She wanted the outdoor ceremony of her dreams. She had had enough disappointments, had to change too many things, and wanted this part to go seamlessly. But her and Mitch did exactly what they did back in July of 2020; they pivoted from their ideal plans to do what was best for their guests, and they moved their ceremony indoors. While our hearts were so sad for them, they also swelled with pride at these two. For handling difficulty and disappointment so well. For allowing themselves a brief moment to be sad, then rally to be full of joy simply because they were finally becoming husband and wife. They chose to focus on the things that truly mattered, and it was so moving to witness!

The skies did open up exactly one hour before the ceremony and continued to rain. But they got to dance in the rain after their ceremony and celebrated the night away!

Mitch & Taylor, we love you both!!! As you lounge on the beaches of St. Lucia, we hope you are taken back to Saturday’s moments and are flooded with all of those emotions! Enjoy!!
