Michael took the mic to address his and Samantha’s guests at the start of the reception. He noted that when they first originally planned for their day, they knew they wanted an intimate wedding in the heart of downtown Greenville, and thought to invite about 25 of their closest family and friends to witness their nuptials. And as they considered all of the special people they’d want there to celebrate them, their list grew to 80. 80 of their favorite people. Their support system. Their tribe. Those are the ones with whom they wanted to celebrate the day, witness the start of their lives together on the rooftop overlooking their city, and dance the night away. And it was a beautiful day to witness.
This day was a labor of love, in so many ways. Michael’s mom designed all of the floral arrangements. Your jaw will drop as you look through this sneak peek of their day! She’s incredibly talented, and to watch her love and serve her son and new daughter in this way was inspiring. Samantha made several of the heirloom pieces on display at the reception, like the seating chart, signage, and hand-painted champagne bottle. But most of all, this day was all about the joy of celebrating Michael & Samantha. You can hear the laughter from Mom helping Samantha get dressed to Michael & Samantha turning up the heat on the dance floor! We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the tragic loss of Michael’s brother just 2 weeks before their wedding. We felt the dichotomy of joy and grief existing in these emotional moments. These families honored Michael’s brother throughout the day, in the little things, and it was felt by all. To be there to witness and share in those moments is something that will stay with us for a long time.
Michael & Samantha, to have been invited to share this space with you two, and your families, during this season of life has been an honor. A joy. We are thrilled for you two and the start of your lives together, the future you’ll create, and the lives you’ll impact. May you always look back on these moments, and never forget the love and joy that surrounds you both. Congrats!!
