“Let’s plan a wedding!” Those are fun, even exhilarating words to say and hear. And for a good portion of our couples, that planning starts even before the actual proposal. We’ve shared this before, but in case you didn’t know, Ryan & I did just that! We picked a date and a venue before there was a ring on my finger, and we think we made a great decision. We had a shorter engagement (6 months), and picked a holiday weekend (Memorial Day). We also chose our date around our venue’s availability (Cliffs at Glassy Chapel, for anyone wondering!). Because of that, we knew that a few decisions needed to be made before Ryan actually popped the question. And while it felt a little weird at first, we were thankful for the pressure it took off of us during that time, so we could enjoy our engagement knowing some of the big things were already taken care of! And every year, we book 5-6 couples who, just like us, start planning and securing vendors before the proposal. And if you’re reading this, and that happens to be you, please know that 1) you’re in fabulous company and 2) you’re actually making one of the best decisions to ensure you have the right people you want a part of this experience with you! You’re coming out on top!

Michael & Samantha started out that way, yet just a few short weeks after our first conversation with them, we received the excited news from Samantha that Michael had asked and she said yes! In Samantha’s own words, “Today was a fairytale! You are exceedingly and abundantly more than I have prayed for. God’s timing is utterly perfect.” Michael snuck her away to an alleyway in downtown Anderson, where a rose-strewn pathway marked by candles led them to the most perfect setting for Michael to get down on one knee. If you know them, you know these two are meant to be. They’re sweet, bubbly, and if you asked Michael, always up for cuddling in the azaleas (ha!). We are so thrilled to witness them say I Do in 6 months! Samantha & Michael, we know even with recent hiccups in the wedding planning process, you two will never lose your joy, and that you have the best person by your side to face whatever life throws at you. We’re officially a part of your village, and we’re so excited to see what comes next for you guys! In the meantime, enjoy this sneak peek from our time together!
