We have always had an extremely high regard for our nation’s military. Ryan’s Grandfather served in the Air Force during World War II. Alyssa’s Grandfather served in the Army. One of Ryan’s best friends spent 9 months over in Afghanistan recently. We have nothing but pure admiration for the men and women who are willing to sacrifice time with family, safety, and even pay the ultimate price for people they don’t even know. Men. Women. Every single branch. They are heroes in our book. No doubt about it.
So when we first got to meet Rocky & Skylar and found out that Rocky is a U.S. Marine, we were so excited! Rocky served in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2011 and we were so honored to be a part his and Skylar’s wedding! These two are a blast to be around. At their engagement session we had an amazing time trying to beat the rain that was headed our way. We were successful in that attempt by literally no more than 30 seconds. We gave our quick goodbye hugs and jumped into our cars just as it started pouring! During that engagement session we got to see a glimpse of the love they share. Maybe that’s cliche to say, but it’s true. It was never more evident than on Rocky’s face as Skylar walked down the aisle. Rocky, the strong model of “Semper Fi”, couldn’t hold back his tears seeing his winsome bride for the first time. Incredibly touching.
If you need any further supporting evidence for the fact that Rocky & Skylar are extremely fun, likable people, look no further than their wedding party. All told, they had 30 people in their wedding party! 30 PEOPLE! It was certainly a challenge to keep that many people together, but they were amazing and really made our jobs much easier. We definitely see having 30 people as a sign that Rocky & Skylar have a lot of friends and a LOT of support in their marriage journey together. Awesome!
Rocky, it has been an honor to serve you in a fraction of the way you have served us. Skylar, we know it takes a woman of strength to be married to a military man. We have no doubt that you are up to the task. We love you both! Enjoy this small sample of images as a small token of appreciation for the amazing people you are!
