Steven & Kelley Airport Engagement Clemson, South Carolina

When Steven and Kelley told us they wanted to use an airplane in their engagement session, we were caught between two reactions: 1) That’s awesome! We are always up for new things! and 2) How do we even make that work? How do you incorporate an airplane into a session?

But in the end, we are always up for trying something new and exciting and part of the fun is figuring out how to make it work! And guys, it couldn’t have turned out any better in our dreams! At first we were a little nervous. We pulled into the airport and saw a lot of black asphalt (as you would expect if you knew anything about airports – we didn’t). Our thought as photographers was, how do we make the light look good on black asphalt? We may not know airports, but we do know photography and we know that black absorbs light and thus doesn’t reflect beautiful light onto our couples. Well Ryan solved that by being a reflector ninja and making sure we were bouncing quality light. Our next thought was, what does this plane even look like? Is it tiny? Is it huuuge? Well, in the end, it was the perfect size and wouldn’t change a thing! The best part is that Steven proposed to Kelley on that same airplane, so being able to incorporate that special part of their love story makes this session even more incredible!

Now, enough about planes! Let’s talk about Steven and Kelley! They are getting married in Mexico. Whatttttt?! So awesome! More on that in a few months. But in the time that we have gotten to spend with Steven & Kelley, we have grown to love them. They don’t like The Office so that was one strike against them, but they STILL managed to win us over with their awesomeness! Kelley has this perfect smile that seems so effortless, and her laugh lights up the room. And Steven looks at her with such confidence and love, which is everything we need to know about how incredible their marriage will be. So until their wedding in Cancun later this year, enjoy one of the most uniquely beautiful engagement sessions we have gotten to photograph! Steven & Kelley, you guys are the best!!!
