We’ve seen Ed & Allie quite a bit over the last 7 months. First, their Christmas proposal in the heart of downtown Greenville, where we witnessed Ed make Allie’s dreams come true in every way! That coupled with a surprise engagement party later that evening at Allie’s parents’ home only sealed the deal in our minds that they were our kind of people. And we were crossing our fingers they’d reach out once the wedding planning began!
As you’ve already figured out, they did (yay!!!), and we met up with them and Rutley (their pup!) at Hotel Domestique for their engagement session (which they absolutely nailed and is one of our favorites!!). That made us even more excited for the big day with Sprague Events!!
After quite a few zoom calls, and too many to count emails, the end of July arrived. Cue the wedding weekend! We were invited to document the rehearsal dinner for Ed & Allie and it was so sweet to see so many friends and family in one place celebrating these two. Seriously, they couldn’t be more loved! And it was an honor to be in a more intimate setting with these two and their loved ones.
For the wedding day, Allie’s mom handed us a gorgeous single bloom from a dahlia variety called the Allie White, that she grew in her own garden. It bloomed the day of her own Allie’s wedding day! But the sentimental details didn’t stop there. Allie was given a six pence to carry with her that the Miros women before her also carried on their nuptials. And just WAIT until you see the stunning veil Allie wore – a vintage lace veil, handmade in Belgium, worn by at least 9 other brides before her on their wedding days. To have such a stunning piece of history passed down to the women in Allie’s life is a priceless heirloom and it was perfect for Allie!
Ed & Allie chose to do a first look at their reception venue, the Poinsett Club. And it allowed them to get some perfect photos of them with their sweet pup Rutley! Who was just as energetic as she was when we first met her at the engagement session! Ed & Allie chose to get married at the church where Allie’s parents, sister, and brother got married. After their heartfelt ceremony, they walked out of the church and into a sword arch, in honor of Ed’s cadet days at the Citadel! Then it was off to the Poinsett Club to dance the night away. And dance they did! There are too many fun moments of the incredible party!
To the newlyweds, it’s no secret we love you both! What an honor and joy it’s been to document these important life moments for you two. As you enjoy your last few days in St. Lucia, we hope this blog post brings you back to the best day ever!
