They are obsessed with the mountains, Sean & Maggie. You can read more in detail about that in their engagement session feature, but when it came to planning their wedding, they had one criteria – showcase the mountains in all of their splendor. So they started searching. Their search for east coast venues caused them to stumble upon Hotel Domestique, nestled right outside of Greenville, at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and they instantly knew it was the perfect venue to host their destination wedding. No one, and we mean NO ONE originated from South Carolina, except for their wedding vendors. Once they found their perfect venue, and decided on a fall wedding to show off the glorious scenery surrounding the Hotel, they found Katie with K. Elizabeth & Co Events. And what Katie and her team designed for Sean & Maggie was nothing short of spectacular. Scroll through their wedding to see what we mean, but they outdid themselves with this wedding!
We kicked off Sean & Maggie’s wedding weekend at Up On The Roof for their rehearsal dinner and after party. We listened to family share sweet stories, challenge them as a couple, and hear their words of advice and well wishes as they do life together. The slideshow Sean’s sister put together, which chronologized their relationship, had everyone in tears. Us included. These two were made for each other, and everyone who’s around them for 5 seconds knows it.
But their day. Oh, what an incredible day it was! Imagine planning a fall wedding, at peak leave season, in the mountain region of the south, balmy weather (yes, it was 80 degrees and we were asked by Sean & Maggie’s friends and family if South Carolina weather was always like this), and waking up at the venue of your dreams. Having all of the important people in your life fly in from around the country to support and celebrate you. The giddy excitement, the nervous energy, the emotional tears in the little moments all leading up to the moment you say I Do. Surrounded by a garden of flowers, seated family style for dinner, packed dance floor, and surprise fireworks display to end the evening. Perfection in every single way.
Sean & Maggie, if you don’t know it already, we’re kind of obsessed with you two. Thank you for including us in these moments. To witness your joy, and celebrate your love, has been an honor! We half-heartedly apologize that this blog post is so long – there are too many favorite moments we wanted to share with all. Enjoy this sneak peek back on the best day of 2023!!!
