Last week we shared our favorite engagement images from 2016. It was one of the hardest posts to put together all year! But that challenge proved to be nothing in comparison to today’s post!
Today, we are sharing our favorite wedding images of 2016. And, in order to make it to this post, these images have been on quite the journey! We take an average of 4,000 images on a wedding day. 4,000!!! So for this year, that’s well over 100,000 total! So these images made the cut from 100,000 down to the over 21,000 photos we delivered to our amazing couples. But not only that, the photos in this post today made the cut from 21,000 all the way down to the final 175! That means that the images you are about to see are in the top .15% of the wedding images we took all year!!! That’s quite the high percentile!
Those numbers blew us away when we looked at them. But that sense of awe only lasted for a few minutes. Quickly, our attention turned to the memories represented. Each moment and detail, a memory for one of our incredible couples on their wedding day. It’s hard to believe that Evan & Hannah’s wedding was almost a year ago on January 4th. But these memories live on as their marriage completes its first full year! And it’s crazy to think about all of the emotions we felt on each of these wedding days. The occasional stress or frustration was immediately outweighed by joy and love! We truly love each of these couples more than we ever thought possible. And that’s what makes this one of our favorite posts every single year.
If you are one of our beloved 2016 wedding couples, we want to say one thing to you, even though you hopefully already know it: we love you guys. Scrolling through this post brings tears to our eyes. And we can’t fathom the depth of blessing we have received to share this year with you. You are in our hearts. And you are in our prayers. We pray that your marriages will stand the test of time in a world where marriage vows are just words. And as you scroll through this post, we ask that you do 2 things: 1. Relive the moments and details you see from your wedding! 2. Please keep these other couples in your thoughts and prayers as they are in their first year of marriage just like you. They are experiencing the same challenges and joys!
P.S. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention that we still have one gorgeous wedding left in 2016. However, Brian & Stephanie’s wedding is on New Year’s Eve. And since we will be ringing in 2017 with them, we are going to let them be our first couple in the 2017 favorite wedding images blog post!!! We love you Brian & Stephanie!
