We hear a lot of speeches. Father of the bride speeches, speeches from friends and loves ones. And if you’ve been to enough weddings, you’ve heard them too! But we love to hear speeches from the heart! And if you need an example, look no further than Chris’s speech to his brand new bride, Danielle, last weekend! He had the perfect mix of funny, heart-felt and his own sarcastic sense of humor. And we can’t think of a better way for you to get to know Chris and Danielle and to introduce their wedding day to you than with part of Chris’s wonderful speech:

“Danielle Phillips, I could not think of a better person to be my wife. From our first date, I knew you were the one. You were the one who was going to put up with my constant whining and lack of a real diet. I’m sure many of you here may know of a better man to marry Danielle. But to that, all I can can say is…’no take backs!’

You give me a reason to work hard every day, to improve myself. Even though sometimes we will wake up for the gym and both agree that the gym is really far away and we just moved boxes the night before and that totally counts as a workout. I’m thankful I found you when I did. Someone as smart and beautiful as you wouldn’t have been single for long. Someone else would’ve have tried to convince you that they were your soulmate. But thankfully…I tricked you first!

I can’t wait to grow old with you. I aspire to be the old couple driving 30 miles per hour under the speed limit because Family Feud doesn’t start for another 3 hours. I can’t wait to be the right age where sitting on the same side of the booth is cute and not creepy.

Until that day, though, I’ll remind you just how special you are to me. I’ll remind you just how beautiful you are even after we skip the gym and eat mints for breakfast in our sweatpants. I’ll remind you how skilled you are when my mom asks you for help with anything technology related. I’ll remind you how creative you are like all the times you dress in the same colors I do even though I was dressed first!

And with that, I’d like to make a toast. To the past and who we are because of it. To the present, may we always appreciate what we have. And to the future and all of the memories we have yet to make and our loves ones who are there every step of the way.”
