Late Summer Outdoor Wedding in Roanoke VA Harry & Savannah | Roanoke, VA

This blog post has been a long time coming, partly because I knew the tears that would come in putting this together and partly due to the fact that we’ve known Savannah for years and have secretly always envisioned this day!!!

You probably saw their engagement session in the spring, and can read their story there. So let’s talk about their wedding weekend! Harry & Savannah chose a late summer wedding, at the beautiful Belle Garden Estate, an outdoor wedding venue outside of Roanoke Virginia. A gorgeous historic home, with the Blue Ridge Mountains off in the distance, and the general area where Harry grew up. Even towards the end of summer, it is a stunning choice for a destination wedding to host all of Harry & Savannah’s friends and family.

Savannah chose well. Not just the venue, or the colors, or her bridesmaids (can we give a quick moment to the pinks and green mix?!). But in Harry. A man who makes Savannah’s smile light up the room. The adorable little smirk she makes when she talks about him. The way she looks at him like he hung the moon. Someone who fully supports and encourages her to pursue her dreams, her quiet stabilizing strength, the love of her life. Harry, watching Savannah fall in love with you has been a joy. Truly. Thank you for making her happy, for putting her first, and being everything she needs you to be and more.

Let’s circle back to the actual day real fast. I kind of wanted to move into the room we used for getting ready photos. Lol! These photos of Savannah and her mom might be some of my favorites! I can’t get over the perfect blend of pinks and greens throughout the day, from the mismatched bridesmaids dresses, to the flowers, to the paper goods. And never have we seen so many children involved in the wedding party! Scroll till you see the photos of Harry & Savannah with all the children. Those are the children of her best friends, her family. The ones she nannied for years ago and the ones she accompanies on vacation. Savannah’s heart is on full display in that photo – surrounded by babies, wearing her heart on her sleeve, and beaming knowing those babies love her just as much as she loves them. And they all made it through the ceremony (if you know, you know!)! Oh, oh oh, and before we forget, let’s mention the level of intention in every moment of the day. From sunshades, to fans, to shaved ice trucks during cocktail hour and frozen lemonade for the party, to the live hand-painted guest portraits at the reception, the newlyweds considered all aspects of their guest experience and knocked it out of the park!

Harry & Savannah, thank you for inviting us up to Roanoke to photograph the beginning of your forever. We love you both, and are grateful to have been the ones to tell this part of your love story <3 Cheers to forever!!!
