Midsummer Historic Hotel Wedding at the Westin Poinsett Tanner & Kristen | Greenville, SC

When I look at these photos and think back on July 12th, one word pops into my mind. (Well, if I’m honest, a lot of words BUT one word stands out) Emotional. For some, that word carries a specific connotation. For us, it’s a sign of authenticity. Openness. Some wedding days just make you feel more than others. And Tanner & Kristen’s wedding was one of those days. When we shared a preview initially from their day, I said that theirs was a story only God could write. It’s not our full story to tell, but we can tell you that when these two met decades ago, this was never on their radar. In fact, Tanner’s dad shared at the rehearsal dinner that he remembers sitting down over numerous luncheons with Kristen’s dad, back when she was little, specifically praying for her future husband, never knowing he was actually praying for his own son. And years later, God brought them together, in a beautiful, intricately layered story only He can write. And you can tell from looking at these photos that these two were meant to be. These photos from their wedding day, the start to their forever, will make you feel exactly what they were feeling in these moments. And that’s one of the things we love about Tanner & Kristen. They love deeply. Openly. They and their families invited us in to celebrate their joy and feel right along with them. Our eyes welled up with tears when Dad’s did when he turned around and saw his baby girl all dressed up in white. I couldn’t stop smiling (the big kind of smile that makes your nose crinkle) when Tanner laid eyes on his bride. And when Mom & Dad looked at each other walking down the aisle at the church, laying eyes on their son-in-law, you could feel what their look communicated. Joy. Purpose. Confidence in a plan perfectly orchestrated by a good and loving God.
