WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS IN LOVE

GREENVILLE, SC & BEYOND

San Francisco Treat (not the Rice-A-Roni kind!) Ryan & Alyssa Journeys

Alyssa walks in, computer in hand, and proudly proclaims, “I signed up to be part of the live audience for Jasmine Star’s Creative Live class. And guess what! They want me! AND they want to know if you would come too! Do you want to go?!”

And that’s how we ended up in San Francisco last week.

Ryan had never even been to California before and Alyssa hadn’t been to San Fran, so we planned to make the most of out trip for sure! We rolled off of our Delta flight on Wednesday afternoon after watching Deepwater Horizon (great movie!) on the in-flight screens. And what did we do first? We went to In-N-Out burger! Because that’s what tourists do! And even though we had to wait for 20 minutes at a fast-food restaurant, it was totally worth it.

After our tummies were full, we grabbed one of our 12 Uber rides in 3 days and went our little Airbnb in the suburbs of San Francisco. It was the cutest little place. We felt like we were on top of the world looking down on hundreds of houses squeezed together like sardines. But we were repeatedly told that we were in a good area so we knew this trip was off to a good start!

From there, we headed to meet a fellow-creative in Natalie Franke. She is such a sweet, down-to-earth  person! And not only that, she introduced us to an amazing nutella-filled baguette! It was incredible and got us even more excited for our Paris trip in March!!!

The next day was our class. If you’re not familiar with Creative Live, it’s an online learning platform for creatives. There are, at any given time, several live classes taking place that you can watch online for free! And the education is top-of-the-line too! Jasmine Star, the teacher for our class, is a living legend in the wedding photography community, and we were so excited to meet her in person and learn from her all day long!

On our last day, we were in all-out tourist mode. We visited everything from amazing restaurants where they serve garlic bread with actual whole cloves of garlic on it (what?!) to, of course, the beautiful (and very windy) Golden Gate Bridge.

We wanted a good picture of us in front of the Bridge. We got what we thought were good tips from a few people to go to a spot called Baker Beach. Except, when we got there, we found out the hard way that it was a nudist beach! It was 50 degrees outside, but that didn’t stop a few people from baring it all! Thankfully they were too far away to cause any mental scarring for us. We finally found a beautiful (and fully-clothed) spot for us to get some gorgeous images!

It was a great little mini-trip for us and we would definitely go back! And here’s a quick iPhone photo roundup from the week as well!
