Secret Garden Indoor Wedding at The Huguenot Downtown Greenville Sam & Nicolina | Greenville, SC

We still can’t get over this day. But let us set the stage.

Back when we did Sam & Nicolina’s engagement session, it had started to rain. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long for things to subside, but they got a little taste of what it meant to be flexible when things don’t go exactly to plan.

Enter the evening of their rehearsal dinner. We had been having internal conversations about the pending weather. After arriving at the Lazy Goat for their dinner and welcome party, we broached the subject with Jennifer, their planner, and Sam & Nicolina. We shared our rain plan. Asked them to be flexible and trust us to make it happen when we showed up the next morning. We reassured parents we had a solid plan (make that many, many plans) in place. And proceeded to check the radar and hourly reports every 30 minutes on our phones until it was go time.

We met Nicolina and her girls in the impressive Presidential Suite at the Grand Bohemian Hotel, in the heart of downtown and right next to Liberty Bridge. As the afternoon (and Ryan’s constant radar checks) progressed, we saw our short window. We coordinated with Jennifer and her team, and ran with it. Sam was ready an hour before his scheduled time. Cotton Rouge made magic happen and kept the artist services moving. Bridesmaids moved things around. Jennifer coordinated alllll the schedules with other vendors. Will Wright Films rolled with the punches. And we pulled it off. No rain for their first look. Or couples portraits. We kept going, knowing we were on borrowed time, and every click of our cameras was another moment we didn’t think we’d have. Sam & Nicolina didn’t let it phase them, nor did they let the joy leave their faces. And it just reinforced what we already know – we are so privileged to work with the best couples. They trust us when everything seems up in the air. Even if things don’t go according to plan, they find joy in those little moments of celebrating their marriage. They have fun and enjoy each and every moment. And that’s exactly how Sam & Nicolina (and their families!) were on the day!

At the Huguenot, Katelyn Pinner Studio created the most amazing suspended floral runner down the length of the aisle for the ceremony. Probably the most stunning ceremony floral installation we’ve seen! As guests transitioned into the River Room following cocktail hour, they were greeted by greenery arches framing soft seating (who doesn’t want to eat a plated dinner while lounging on a couch?!), and a stunning cake display.
