Gorgeous Cancun Resort Destination Wedding Steven & Kelley | Cancun, Mexico

Last week we had the immense pleasure of doing something we had never done before: shooting a wedding in another country! We headed down to Mexico for Steven & Kelley’s wedding in Cancun!

Now last time you saw Steven & Kelley, we were doing something we had never done before: photographing an engagement session that involved a plane! So it’s safe to say that they have taken us out of our comfort zone a little bit! But we have loved every second of it and we would do it again in a fast heartbeat!

We have said before how much we love the idea of couples writing their own vows for the ceremony. And Steven & Kelley’s handwritten vows knocked our socks off! As they stood face to face on the beautiful pier in Cancun, they shared some incredibly emotional words. We wanted to share a portion of them here with Steven & Kelley’s blessing! His went a little something like this:

“They say every great love story starts with a great story, and for us this is most definitely true. When I met you 15 years ago, I knew there was something special about you. Little did I know that you would become the love of my life and today, my wife.

I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I’ve ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, every day we are together will be the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours. I vow to make you happy, to make you laugh, to cherish you, and to always be there for you. If you are sick I will be your caretaker. If you are in danger I will be your protector. I promise to listen to your advice, and occasionally take it.

I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I have led a common life. There are no moments dedicated to me, and my name will soon be forgotten. But I’ve loved you with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough.”

And here’s a portion of hers:

“Steven, I promise to love you to the ends of the world.

As I stand in front of you, it is hard to explain all my heart feels but as Noah said, you are every reason, every hope, and every dream I’ve ever had. And no matter what happens in the future, every day we are together is the greatest day of my life. Today I can truthfully say the best is yet to be. I will always be yours.”

How heartfelt and amazing! And those are just a small portion of the vows they shared!

Now for the good stuff you’ve been waiting for: the pictures!!! Steven & Kelley, what an incredible journey. We remember that first call, when Kelley, in tears, choked out that she was engaged and that you two wanted us to be there to celebrate your marriage. We still get goosebumps when we think about your amazing story, and we’re forever honored we get to be a part of it. We love you guys, more than words can say! From the dinners we have shared together in the past to the eating-cereal-out-of-frosted-mugs dates we will have in the future, here’s to you guys and all the happiness in the world!
