Jacob & Anna Claire | Clemson Engagement

One week ago today, #snowpocalypse2016 was headed straight for upstate South Carolina. To anyone from the North, an inch of snow and ice is really no big deal. You scoff at the Southerners who head straight for the bread and milk aisle at the grocery store in fear of their lives. Well, to be honest, we do a little bit of scoffing too. We made a quick Publix run the morning after the heaviest snow hit and we felt kind of embarrassed to buy anything considered “storm preparation materials” for fear of being labeled “Apocalypse Preppers!”

We love a little bit of snow as much as anyone. Honestly, being stuck inside all day with nothing but us, Mia and a few Redbox Movies is kind of romantic! (Side note: We watched, in this order, Ant-Man, San Andreas, & Jurassic World, so the romantic aspect wasn’t really there. But Alyssa loves her action movies and Ryan couldn’t be more happy about it! Jackpot!). But while we were excited to be able to rest and relax by the fireplace on Friday night and Saturday, we did have one small problem: Jacob & Anna Claire’s engagement session was scheduled for Sunday. Ahhhh!

Well, we gave them the option to change it to another date, but they sweetly declined that option and decided they wanted to go through with it, #snowpocalypse2016 or not! And if you knew Jacob & Anna Claire, that wouldn’t surprise you one bit. They have one of the most desirable qualities we EVER see in our brides and grooms:

They don’t care where they are. They don’t care what they are doing. They don’t care about the weather. As long as they are together, it’s going to be a good time. Nothing else matters.

Just about all of our brides and grooms have a good time once they get in front of the camera. Alyssa is encouraging them like an upbeat fitness trainer and Ryan is pulling out whatever jokes, dance moves and Taylor Swift falsetto he needs to get them to laugh. The real test is when the cameras are down and they think we aren’t watching. Jacob & Anna Claire pass that “test” with flying colors!

2 instances stick out. First, when we saw them walking up for the first time, clothing options in hand and probably slightly nervous how this was all going to go, they had the biggest smiles you could imagine. That never changed. The second instance was after they had changed. We were waiting for them at the bottom of a long set of stairs and we could see them coming from a good distance away. In the probably 2 solid minutes before they got to us, they never once stopped laughing! Chalk it up to Jacob’s crazy energy or the fact that Anna Claire never knows what he’s going to say next if you want to, but we say…it’s perfect.

We are so grateful to have Anna Claire as part of our #RABRIDES and Jacob is a pretty fantastic addition to our lineup of amazing grooms! After surviving the aftermath of the snowpocalypse together, their wedding day in April will be a piece of cake! We can’t wait! Jacob, Anna Claire, we hope you fall in love with these images as quickly as we fell in love with you guys!
