We had never been to a Highland wedding, much less photographed one! So when we met Jimmy & Brett for the first time and heard they were having a a wedding based in Scottish tradition, we HAD to know more! Turns out, Highland weddings are pretty amazing! Ryan is not one for wearing a kilt by any means, but we can certainly appreciate the heritage and we loved seeing something new.
But, before you go scrolling down to see guys in awesome kilts and bagpipers piping, you need to know more about Jimmy & Brett. You see, after we met them for the first time, it didn’t matter what kind of wedding they were having. We knew instantly that we just wanted to be a part of it!
As we have grown in experience in wedding photography, our priorities have changed with us. We used to get so excited about weddings at certain venues. There was a time our hearts jumped when we got to shoot an outdoor ceremony. We even used to be overjoyed to see our brides were going to be wearing expensive Jimmy Choo shoes or Kate Spade jewelry. And don’t get us wrong, all of those things still excite us!
But our top priority has changed. Now, it’s people.
People make all the difference in what we do. And we are blessed to work with some of the most kind, loving, intelligent, world-changing couples we have ever met. When we think about each of them, we struggle to hold back our emotions at times. These couples mean the world to us.
And Jimmy & Brett fit right into our lives immediately! We knew they would, right from the first meeting! And that’s not even to mention the star of the show, Jimmy’s daughter Lorelie! What a sweet, energetic flower girl she was (she may have stolen 1% of the spotlight from the beautiful Brett, but we don’t think Brett minds).
So without further ado, warm up your fingers for a little bit of scrolling through Jimmy & Brett’s gorgeous red & gold Asheville wedding. And while you’re at it, check out their Atlanta engagement session too! Jimmy & Brett, we can’t tell you what a joy it was to be a part of this time of your lives. We hope you can relive your beautiful day through these images!
