Alyssa’s Burning Obsession: Mercy Verity Candles

Alyssa is the oldest of 4 girls.

But wait. It gets better. Total distance between these 4 girls? 4 years, 10 months!

Can you imagine shopping trips to the mall with 4 teenage girls? Growing up, that was life for Alyssa. Girly things everywhere. Tons of clothes. Shoes. The works. Spending so much time at the mall, there was one store the girls found themselves going to quite a bit: Bath & Body Works. What girl doesn’t love a little pink passionfruit hand soap from B&BW right?

But Alyssa always found herself in another section of the store: a wall-to-wall setup of every scented candle you could imagine. She would spend hours picking up each scent, pulling off the never-before-opened lid and taking in the glorious aroma. There was nothing like it!

Somethings never change. Alyssa is a HUGE candle lover (obsession might be a better word)! There is rarely a time you could walk into our home and not find a candle…or two…or three burning. Is there anything like a fresh scent wafting through the house?! If there is, don’t tell her!

We recently discovered a candle-maker in Greenville that revolutionized our candle-burning forever: Lisa Summers of Mercy Verity Candles! Lisa is a good friend of ours and her candles are absolutely to-die-for! The candles are soy, so they burn purely. And they are locally made! These candles make amazing house-warming gifts (literally and figuratively, of course!). We love the wide selection of candle scents that Lisa has as well! Our favorites are the bright scents. We love Grapefruit Mangosteen which has a little bit of a citrus scent. Our favorite Christmas scent is Cozy, which is infused with apple, cinnamon and citrus.

We often get these candles at the local Saturday market on Main Street in downtown Greenville. We love supporting the local artisans and Mercy Verity is Alyssa’s favorite stop!
