Madeline emailed us about a week before her wedding. We knew what the email was about before we opened it, because we had been watching the forecast too! The chance for rain was real, so we totally understood where she was coming from in being worried about the rain. But we told her the same thing we tell every bride: don’t look at the forecast a week in advance! And of course we told her we had a rain plan, as we always do!
Thankfully, everyone prayed the rain away for the actual day of the wedding, although it did rain pretty hard all the night before! We knew going into the day that it was a concern for Madeline (and why wouldn’t it be?) so we worked so hard along with her planner, Farrah (and a bunch of other amazing vendors!), to make sure everything was perfect!
But if you need one example to see what Parker & Madeline are like, here’s one we have been sharing with people all week.
Because of the rain and wet ground, try as we might to not let it happen, Madeline got a little bit of dirt on the bottom of her dress (her biggest fear!). Keep in mind, this was before the ceremony! We told her everything would be ok 20 times and we heard Parker whispering it to her as well (what a great man!). When the wedding party and family arrived outside for photos, a few people mentioned the dirt on Madeline’s dress. Ahhh!!! But to her eternal credit, Madeline responded with grace and positivity.
She said, “Hey, I’m not worried about it. It’s been raining and I wanted these photos. It’s just going to happen and I’m ok with it!”
Parker & Madeline are incredible people, inside and out. From the time we photographed their proposal and engagement session to now, we have grown to love them so much and we couldn’t wait to share their wedding day preview with you!
